Aside from the Sony Xperia XZ, Sony has announced a new compact smartphone as well that will continue the legacy of compact phones (succeeding the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact), the new Sony Xperia X Compact.
The Xperia X Compact packs a 4.6 inch 720p display, housed in a rounded body similar to the Xperia XZ, albeit sporting a plastic build. It has a 32 GB of internal storage expandable up to 256 GB via microSD card, with 3 GB of RAM. It is a tad thick at 9 mm by today's standards but it also packs a 2,700 mAh battery inside the smaller package, which is a plus. It also adds a great density to the device. It is run by Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 Hexacore processor, with Adreno 510 GPU.
The Xperia X Compact also utilizes the 23 MP camera found on the XZ. It has the Triple Imaging System wherein it uses color detection, phase detection and laser assist to accurately identify subject distance and track intelligently moving objects.
The Sony Xperia X Compact comes in three color variants - Stylish White, Universe Black and Mist Blue. No pricing details is released yet, but Sony promised a global release this September.
