Samsung has officially unveiled the latest iteration of the Galaxy Note Line, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Samsung's naming convention has been paterned with their current Galaxy premium phones, that's why they skipped a number in order to make the naming scheme streamlined.

It is covered with the recently unveiled Corning Gorilla Glass 5 that can withstand drops from "selfie-level" (1.6 meters). It has 4 GB RAM, and depending on version and region, will be handled by either 2.15 GHz Quadcore Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor (USA) or 2.3 GHz Octacore Exynos 8890 processor (Global).

It has a 12 MP Dual Pixel sensor on the rear side with phase-detection autofocus, OIS and has a 1.7 aperture. The front camera is set at 5 MP with the same 1.7 aperture.

Aside from the heart rate sensor and the fingerprint scanner, the Galaxy Note 7 features an Iris Scanner for added security. It also has a USB Type-C port, a first among Samsung handsets. Samsung also refined the S-Pen by reducing the lag for up to 50 ms compared from the Note 5's 70 ms and can even recognize 4,096 pressure levels.
