Pokemon Go: Officially Released in the Philippines

Pokemon Go has been officially released in the country. The much-anticipated game is now live for any Pinoy Pokemon master wannabes.

Pokemon go is a location-based, augmented-reality game wherein a player has to literally walk in the area he/she is in to find Pokemon to catch and train with. The game uses GPS for real-time navigation to determine nearby Pokemon, Pokestops and Pokemon Gyms.

The in-game population is divided into 3 factions or teams. The first one is Team Valor, which forcuses on a Pokemon's true strength to win battles. The second is Team Mystic, which focuses on Pokermon's wisdom. The last is Team Instinct, which focuses on a Pokemon's intuition. A player will be asked to join a team once a certain level has been reached.

Pokemon is developed in collaboration with Niantic and The Pokemon Company.
