Apple iPhone 7 Launched

Apple finally released the iPhone 7, the newest iteration of Apple's most famous mobile hardware.

The new iPhone 7 design is tweaked to give a smoother, cleaner look. The antenna bands are re-worked as well to suit the new design. It is also now water-resistant with IP67 certification (allows a device to be submerged underwater for 30 minutes at a specific depth) and is also dust-resistant. The 3.5 mm headphone jack is now gone, allowing users to plug through the lightning port only (via adapter), or by using wireless headsets via Bluetooth connectivity.

The display is kept at 4.7 inch, similar to iPhone 6s. However, it is 25% brighter with a wider color gamut. The beloved physical home button is now replaced by a capacitive touch-based, pressure sensitive Home button that uses haptic feedback, like the ones found on Macbook Force Touch Trackpad. There is also a new stereo speaker for the new iPhone, giving users a clearer, better audio experience.

The camera is updated as well, with 12 MP sensor, with f/1.8 sensor and optical image stabilization. There is also a 4-LED flash set up. The front camera is now boosted to 7 MP, that can also record 1080p videos.

The iPhone 7 now sports the brand new A10 Fusion Chip, a quad core processor with two high performance cores and two power saving cores, getting a 40% boost over the A9 chipset. GPU is updated as well with 50% performance boost over A9's GPU.

The iPhone 7 starts at $649.00 (Php 30.7k) with the 32 GB base models. Available options are 32 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB. No word yet for official Philippine release.
